It seems like everyday we hear about a new health trend. From infrared saunas, to adding collagen to your coffee, it can be hard to keep up and understand what works best for YOUR body. As you test out the latest health trends and see what your body responds best to, there are simple habits you can commit to daily to improve your health. Check out these simple healthy habits that you can commit to daily without the endless hours of research or pricey supplements:

Stay Hydrated

The health and wellness market puts a large emphasis on drink supplements, energy drinks, and skinny teas, but what about one of your body’s most essential needs, water? Up to 60% of our bodies are made up of water, so give your body what it needs. Strive to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day, which is about half a gallon. Tips on meeting your daily water intake? Purchase a reusable half gallon jug. Mark on the jug where you should be with your water intake every three hours of the day. This simple daily habit will not only have you feeling great, but looking great too! Have you heard about the wonders staying hydrated does for your skin?

Show Some Love

For many of us, it is easy to wake up, look in the mirror, and criticize what we see. This is no way to treat your body who has conquered so much for you. Reverse this habit and start each day with a moment of self-love. Look in the mirror each day and say one thing you love about yourself, or something that you are proud of. From loving your curls, to giving yourself a pat on the back for throwing the BEST 2nd birthday party for your mini me, you deserve this moment of self-love each and every day. Our mental health has a huge impact on how our body responds to diet & exercise. Make sure you are in a good place mentally to get the max benefits from any new health trends you try.

Get Moving!

While we would love to see you at The Bar Method every day, we know this is not realistic for most of us. Aim to make it to The Bar Method at least three times a week, but make sure you keep your body moving on your off days as well. For those of us with sedentary jobs, most of our day is spent sitting down. Find ways to get your body moving! Take your pooch on an early morning walk, or take the stairs at the office! You can even sit on a yoga ball at work to improve posture and core strength. Aim to have at least 20 minutes of movement a day (solo dance parties included).

Log Off

We live in a phone obsessed society. Studies show that on average, Americans check their phones 80 times a day. To relax the mind and give time to yourself, we urge you to put all of your devices aside and “log off” for at least 30 minutes a day. You can take this time to get a workout in, play with the kids, or read a book! The options are endless and your well-being (and eyes) will thank you. We promise you won’t miss anything too important on your Instagram feed within those 30 minutes.

So, who is ready to adopt these habits and kickstart your path to a healthier you? This combination of daily habits will provide nourishment, get your body moving, and improve your overall well-being. Is there anything we missed? Share your healthy habits with us on today’s social media post!
